1840's Iron Building Star

Forged Steel With Antiqued Finish
These Iron Stars were used as decorative anchors to help stabilize old brick homes and buildings across early America.  The brick had a tendency to lean out and eventually the walls would fall down.  To prevent this, a rod was drilled through the brick wall and  into the center beam of the house. Iron stars, like these, were used to decorate the bolt that was exposed to the outside. Forged from steel these stars make a great decorative piece of history for your home.
